Él es la piedra que fue rechazada por ustedes, los constructores, que fue colocada por la cabeza de la esquina. Hechos 4,11

Pensamiento, comentario, reflexión: esta es la piedra que ustedes constructores no pusieron en nada. Por su rechazo y crucifixión de Jesucristo, han cumplido una de sus propias profecías, Salmo 118: 22; y, como una parte de esa profecía se cumple ahora tan literalmente, usted puede estar a salvo, al igual que la otra; y esta piedra rechazada se convertirá rápidamente en la piedra angular de la esquina. Esta es la piedra: este pasaje se encuentra en el Salmo 118.22. También lo cita nuestro Salvador, según corresponda a sí mismo. Ver las notas en Mateo 21.42.

Los antiguos judíos aplicaron esto a David. En Targum en el Salmo 118: 22, se presenta este pasaje: "El hijo que estaba entre los hijos de Jesé y que era digno de ser hecho rey, los constructores lo rechazaron". Los escritores del Nuevo Testamento, sin embargo, lo aplican sin ningún tipo de duda al Mesías. Compárese con Isaías 28.16; Romanos 9.33; Efesios 2.20.

Y de este pasaje, podemos aprender que Dios anulará los dispositivos y planes de los hombres malvados para lograr sus propios propósitos. Lo que la gente desprecia y devalúa, estima un valor invaluable en su reino. Lo que los grandes y los poderosos desprecian, considera la base y la piedra angular del edificio que pretende crear. Nada ha sido más notable que eso en la historia del hombre; y de ninguna manera hay más desprecio en los orgullosos proyectos de la gente, que lo que rechazaron Dios hizo la base de sus planes.

He is the stone that was rejected by you builders, that was placed by the head of the corner. Acts 4.11

Thought, comment, reflection: this is the stone that you builders did not put into anything. Because of their rejection and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, they have fulfilled one of their own prophecies, Psalm 118: 22; And since one part of that prophecy is now so literally fulfilled, you can be safe, just like the other; And this rejected stone will quickly become the cornerstone of the corner. This is the stone: this passage is found in Psalm 118.22. It is also quoted by our Savior, as appropriate to himself. See the notes in Matthew 21.42.

The ancient Jews applied this to David. In Targum in Psalm 118: 22, this passage is presented: "The son who was among the sons of Jesse and who was worthy to be made king, the builders rejected him." The New Testament writers, however, apply it without question to the Messiah. Compare Isaiah 28.16; Romans 9.33; Ephesians 2.20.

And from this passage, we can learn that God will nullify the devices and plans of evil men to accomplish his own purposes. What people despise and devalue, esteem invaluable value in their kingdom. What the great and the powerful despise, consider the base and the cornerstone of the building you intend to create. Nothing has been more remarkable than that in the history of man; and in no way is there more contempt in the proud projects of the people, than what they rejected God made the basis of their plans.
