No vine a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores, al arrepentimiento. Lucas 5.32

Pensamiento, comentario, reflexión: no vine a llamar a los justos, ya que los escribas y fariseos estaban en su propia aprensión y en la estima de otros que confiaban en sí mismos de que eran justos y no se sometían a la justicia de Cristo: estos Cristo no vino a llamar por su gracia y por lo tanto no se asoció con ellos; pero pecadores al arrepentimiento; como los recaudadores de impuestos y otros con ellos; y, por lo tanto, estaba principalmente con estos, y eligió estar entre ellos: a estos no solo llamó al arrepentimiento por el ministerio externo de la palabra, sino que los trajo a ella; tiene el poder de otorgar la gracia del arrepentimiento, así como de exigir su deber; Mateo 9:13. Marcos 2:17.

I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance. Luke 5.32

Thought, comment, reflection: I did not come to call the righteous, since the scribes and Pharisees were in their own apprehension and in the esteem of others who trusted themselves that they were righteous and did not submit to the righteousness of Christ: These Christ did not come to call by his grace and therefore was not associated with them; but sinners to repentance; like tax collectors and others with them; and therefore he was chiefly with these, and chose to be among them: these he not only called to repentance by the outward ministry of the word, but brought them to it; it has the power to bestow the grace of repentance, as well as to demand its duty; Matthew 9:13. Mark 2:17.

Confession of faith

I confess my sin and ask for forgiveness, and free me from all condemnation. I recognize Jesus Christ as my only and sufficient Savior and Lord of my life. Write my name in the Book of Life.
