Pensamiento, comentario, reflexión: no trabaje por la carne, es decir, solo por eso, sino también por el pan, etc. Nuestro Señor quiere que cada hombre sea activo y diligente en el trabajo en que la providencia lo ha colocado; pero también es tu voluntad que este trabajo, y todas las preocupaciones de la vida, estén subordinadas al interés de tu alma.

Pero por esa carne, etc. - El que no trabaja en la obra de su salvación nunca debe entrar en el reino de Dios. Aunque nuestro trabajo no puede comprarlo, en su totalidad o en parte, sigue siendo la forma en que Dios elige dar la salvación; y el que tendrá el cielo debe luchar por él. Thought, comment, reflection: do not work for the meat, that is, only for that, but also for the bread, etc. Our Lord wants every man to be active and diligent in the work in which Providence has placed him; but it is also your will that this work, and all the worries of life, be subordinated to the interest of your soul.

But for that meat, etc. - He who does not work in the work of his salvation must never enter the kingdom of God. Although our work cannot buy it, in whole or in part, it is still the way God chooses to give salvation; and he who will have heaven must fight for him. Everything that can be possessed, except the salvation of God, is something that perishes: that is its essential character: it cannot last for us longer than the body does. But, when the earth and its products are burned, this bread of Christ, his grace and salvation, will be a remnant for eternal life. This is the part that an immortal spirit must seek.
