Porque donde están dos o tres reunidos en mi nombre, allí estoy yo entre ellos. Mateo 18,20

Pensamiento, Comentario, Reflexión: Entonces, cuando dos o más personas se unen en el nombre de Jesús, en obediencia a Su palabra, tienen la autoridad que proviene de Dios para resolver los problemas (p. 18). El enfoque de este texto es resolver una "demanda" entre hermanos en la iglesia. Esto muestra que Dios está entre su pueblo, dándoles sabiduría y autoridad cuando se unen en su nombre. Por lo tanto, la presencia de Dios, junto con la obediencia de las personas al conducir la disciplina al hermano que necesita revisar su posición incorrecta, le da autoridad a lo que están haciendo. Este es el significado centrado en este texto. La presencia de Jesús da validez a la actividad judicial de la iglesia al tratar con la demanda.

Sin embargo, no veo nada malo en pensar en estos "dos o tres" cuando la iglesia de Jesús se reunió con Él, bendiciéndolos y actuando en medio de ellos, porque Él está allí. Lo que está mal es pensar que esta es una regla que estipula que Dios está presente solo donde tenemos más de "uno" reunido en Su nombre. Es importante tener claro que este no es el significado del texto discutido dentro del contexto presentado en la Biblia. ¡Recuerde que Dios es omnipresente, lo que significa que está en todas partes!

Thought, Commentary, Reflection: So when two or more people unite in the name of Jesus, in obedience to His word, they have the authority that comes from God to solve problems (p. 18). The focus of this text is to resolve a "lawsuit" between brothers in the church. This shows that God is among his people, giving them wisdom and authority when united in his name. Therefore, God's presence, coupled with people's obedience in bringing discipline to the brother who needs to review his wrong position, gives authority to what they are doing. This is the meaning centered in this text. Jesus' presence validates the judicial activity of the church in dealing with the lawsuit.

However, I see nothing wrong with thinking of these "two or three" when Jesus' church met with Him, blessing them, and acting in their midst, because He is there. What is wrong is thinking that this is a rule that God is present only where we have more than "one" gathered in His name. It is important to be clear that this is not the meaning of the text discussed within the context presented in the Bible. Remember that God is omnipresent, which means that He is everywhere!
