Pensamiento, Comentario, Reflexión: Mis palabras, mi doctrina; permanecen en ti, no solo se recuerdan, sino que se dejan en ti como un principio vivo, para regular tus afectos y tu vida.

Preguntarán, ver Juan 14, 13. Esta promesa tenía una referencia particular a los apóstoles. Es aplicable a otros cristianos solo en la medida en que estén en circunstancias similares a los apóstoles, y solo en la medida en que posean su espíritu. Thought, Commentary, Reflection: My words, my doctrine; they remain in you, they are not only remembered, but they are left in you as a living principle, to regulate your affections and your life.

They will ask, see John 14:13. This promise had a particular reference to the apostles. It is applicable to other Christians only insofar as they are in circumstances similar to the apostles, and only insofar as they possess their spirit. We learn from this that only when we keep Christ's commandments, only when we live by faith in him and suffer his words to control our conduct and affection, will our prayers be heard. If we were perfect in all things, he would always listen to us, and we should be prevented from making an inappropriate request; but insofar as men consider inequality in their

hearts, the Lord will not hear you, Psalm 66.18.
