Como Cristo también nos recibió, es decir, nos recibió como sus amigos y seguidores; ver Romanos 14,3.

Thought, Commentary, Reflection: Receive yourselves, you recognize yourselves as Christians and treat yourself as such, although you may differ in opinion on many minor matters; see Romans 14: 3.

As Christ also received us, that is, he received us as his friends and followers; see Romans 14.3.

For the glory of God, to promote his glory. He redeemed and renewed us, to promote the honor of God; Compare Ephesians 1.6. When Christ received us to promote the glory of God, we should treat ourselves similarly for a similar purpose. The exhortation in the verse is for those who have divided themselves on various points regarding rites and ceremonies; for those who had become between "Gentiles" and "Jews"; and the apostle here says that Christ received "both."

To enforce this, and especially to show "Jewish" converts that they should receive and acknowledge their "Gentile" brethren, he proceeds to demonstrate, in the following verses, that Christ made reference to "both" in his work. He shows this in reference to the Roman "Jews" 15.8 and the Roman "Gentiles" 15.9.12.
