La Santa Biblia San Juan 17,26 (Devocional) - New Testament of the Holy Bible Saint John 17,26 

Y les he dado a conocer tu nombre y te lo daré a conocer, para que el amor con el que me has amado esté en ellos, y yo esté en ellos. San Jua 17,26

Pensamiento, Comentario, Reflexión: Comentario de Adam Clarke, les declaro su nombre, les enseñé la verdadera doctrina y él declarará: Esto hizo:

1er. Por las conversaciones que tuvo con sus discípulos después de su resurrección, durante cuarenta días.

2dly Por el Espíritu Santo que fue derramado sobre ellos el día de Pentecostés. Y todas estas declaraciones que hizo Jesucristo, para que el amor de Dios, y el mismo Cristo Jesús, habitara en ellas; y así se convertirían en una morada para Dios a través del Espíritu eterno.

El sermón de nuestro Señor, que concluyó con la oración registrada en este capítulo, comienza en Juan 13:13 y es uno de los más excelentes que se pueden concebir. Su sermón en la montaña muestra a los hombres lo que deben hacer para agradar a Dios: este sermón les muestra cómo deben hacer las cosas prescritas en el otro. En el primero, el lector ve una moral estricta que teme que nunca podrá lograr: con esto, ve que todo es posible para aquellos que creen; porque ese mismo Dios que lo creó morará en tu corazón y le permitirá hacer lo que quiera usar. Thought, Comment, Reflection: Adam Clarke's comment, I declare his name, I taught you the true doctrine and he will declare: This he did:

1st. For the conversations he had with his disciples after his resurrection, for forty days.

2dly By the Holy Spirit that was poured out on them on the day of Pentecost. And all these declarations that Jesus Christ made, so that the love of God, and the same Jesus Christ, could dwell in them; and thus they would become a dwelling place for God through the eternal Spirit.

Our Lord's sermon, which ended with the prayer recorded in this chapter, begins at John 13:13 and is one of the most excellent conceivable. His sermon on the mountain shows men what they must do to please God: this sermon shows them how they should do the things prescribed in the other. In the first, the reader sees a strict morality that he fears he will never be able to achieve: with this, he sees that everything is possible for those who believe; because that same God who created him will dwell in your heart and allow him to do what he wants to use. No man can adequately understand the nature and design of the religion of Christ that does not enter the spirit of the preceding discourse.
